LOSS OF CLUB MEMBER!

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of one of our members - Dermot G3FP. He passed away during the morning of 23rd November 2009.

Our thoughts and wishes are with his family.

New Foundation Licensees

Our chief instructor Lewis, G4CRT, has succeeded in helping five people pass the foundation exam. Link

Two more club members recently passed their Intermediate License - well done to Kim 2E0KAH and Gary 2E0DAQ.

Swadlincote Science Week Report 2008

As the webmaster I apologize that this report took so long, but as my exams are now over here it is. Link

We pride ourselves as being the friendly amateur radio group with interests in all manner of communications such as digital modes, amateur TV, weather satellite reception as well as the ordinary amateur radio communication modes.

We put on special event stations several times a year including:

  • Swadlincote Science Event - at Rosliston Forestry Centre

  • The Festival of Leisure - at Maurice Lea Memorial Park - Church Gresley

  • Jamboree on the Air - for St Johns Scouts - at Rolleston-On-Dove

  • Plus many others as we get asked!!!

We have a wide age range within our membership.

Next Training course

Full license course! 

The next full license course is scheduled to start on Saturday the 6th February 2010 at Moira. The RSGB examination date is Wednesday the 21st April 2010.
