RSGB SSB Field Day 2009
5th and 6th September; 13.00 - 13.00 UTC Many thanks to everyone that came along to support, set up camp, dismantled camp, kept us fed and watered, gave us 'power' or helped in any way. A great weekend. Thanks very much to all those who operated through the night, especially G4CRT and G7JHW!

2E0BGV making contact! RESULTS... The results for the SSB Field Day 2009 have now been published and can be found at the link below. The club finished 17th out of 22 in the open section. While not quite as good as our 2007 position, at least there were a few stations finishing below us. (The 2008 event was cancelled due to severe local weather conditions) Hopefully next year we will be able to persuade a greater number of club members to volunteer for contest operating along with a proper schedule. It can be difficult to maintain the pace with insufficient people; increased operators should provide better results. Thanks to all involved, with a special mention for Jacqui (2E0JQY) who kept us supplied with sausages in buns and likewise. Similarly to Peter (M1CNL) and Graham (G7WFK) without whose electrical expertise and trailer-towing efforts (respectively) the club would probably not have been able to partake! A super effort all round!

RSGB SSB Field Day 2011 The 2011 SSB field day took place over the weekend of 3rd/4th September 2011. 13.00 - 13.00 UTC Results available here...and we are very pleased to see that we came 13th with 140,980 points!!!!!! During the final stages of operation, Lewis and Jacqui were ecstatic that we logged 500+ contacts, however, were disappointed to see that in the results log there's only 465!!!!! (We believe there were some errors made when logging change of bands during the night time operation!!!! Hard work when there's only 3 of you!!!!) Supporters this year... Thanks to Lewis, Jacqui, Robert, Bob, Gary, Dave and John for operating and logging over the 24hours - a special vote of thanks must go to those night owls!!!!!
